AI Book Writer – User Documentation

Introduction

AI Book Writer is a desktop application that helps you create complete books using artificial intelligence. From initial concept to final manuscript and cover design, the app guides you through the entire book creation process.

System Requirements

• Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
• macOS 11 Big Sur or later (Apple Silicon)
• 4GB RAM minimum
• Internet connection
• OpenAI API key
• Ideogram API key

Getting Started

Below is the updated documentation:

1. Installation

Windows:

• Download: Get the file AIBookWriterSetup.exe.
• Run: Double-click the installer.
• Follow: Complete the setup wizard.
• Launch: Start AI Book Writer after installation.

Mac OS:

• Download: You will receive either a .dmg or .pkg installer (depending on your download).
• Install:
  • For a .dmg file:
    • Double-click the installer to open it.
    • Drag and drop the AI Book Writer icon into your Applications folder.
  • For a .pkg file:
    • Double-click the installer and follow the wizard steps.
• Launch: Open the Applications folder and double-click AI Book Writer to launch the app.

Apple Gatekeeper Notice

If you see a warning that the app is from an unidentified developer, try the following methods (you only need to do this the first time):

Option 1: Right-Click and Open

1. Right-click (or Control-click) on the DMG or app icon.
2. Select: Choose Open from the context menu.
3. Confirm: In the dialog that appears, click Open again to confirm.

This method bypasses the quarantine warning without requiring any Terminal commands.

Option 2: Manual Removal Using Terminal

1. Open the Terminal application.
2. Type the following command (replace /Applications/AIBookWriter.app with the actual path if different):

   xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/AIBookWriter.app
   

3. Press Enter.

This command removes the quarantine attribute from the app, allowing it to open normally. This method is less ideal for everyday users because it requires using the Terminal.

Troubleshooting: App Not Starting on macOS

If the app still does not start after installation, it might be due to the app being marked with a quarantine flag when downloaded. Use one of the above methods (Right-Click and Open or Manual Removal Using Terminal) to bypass or remove the quarantine flag. Once done, the app should launch normally.

2. Create an account or sign in
3. Go to the API keys section
4. Create a new key
5. Copy the key to the app settings

Ideogram API Key

1. Visit Ideogram
2. Create an account or sign in
3. Generate an API key
4. Copy the key to the app settings

3. Quick Start Guide

1. Open AI Book Writer
2. Click “Settings” and enter your API keys
3. Save settings
4. Enter or generate a book idea
5. Enter or generate writing styles
6. Set chapters, paragraphs, and words per paragraph
7. Choose book category and style
8. Generate or enter a book concept
9. Go to the next page and enter or generate the story structure
10. Go to the next page and generate the book automatically or via interactive mode (generation time depends on the number of chapters)
11. Go to the next page and set the author and year
12. Review your book, change fonts and settings if needed
13. Save the book as a DOCX file on your PC
14. Go to the next page and create a cover generation prompt
15. After the prompt is created, click on “Generate Cover”
16. Refine or remix the generated cover with the other generation options

2. Generate or enter plot points

401/403/404

• API Key Permissions

• Exhausted Credits or Billing Issues
