Privacy Policy for FreeForever

This Privacy Policy describes how FreeForever (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Android application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your personal data is handled securely and transparently.

1. Information We Collect

While using the FreeForever app, we may collect the following types of personal data:

• User Input Data: Any data you provide through the app’s forms and text inputs, such as crisis plans or relapse prevention details. This data is sent to an OpenAPI endpoint for AI-based processing.
• Location Data: If you enable location-based services (such as Google Maps or Play Services for location), we may collect precise geolocation data to improve the service experience.
• Device Information: Data such as your device’s unique ID, operating system version, and app interaction details may be collected to improve app functionality.

Note: The backend does not store any personal data. Data provided is used temporarily to communicate with the OpenAPI service and is not retained.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the data collected to:

• Provide tailored AI responses to user inputs (e.g., relapse prevention support).
• Improve user experience through features like location-based services.
• Debug and troubleshoot the app by analyzing app performance and usage.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR for processing your personal data:

• Consent: By using the app and providing data, you consent to our collection and processing of data (e.g., user input sent to OpenAPI).
• Legitimate Interests: We process necessary data to improve app performance and enhance user experience, ensuring the app functions as intended.

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell or share your personal data with third-party advertisers. However, we rely on the following third-party services to provide essential functionalities:

• Google Play Services (Location)
• Google Maps API (for location-based features)
• OpenAPI (for processing user inputs)

These third-party services may collect data as per their privacy policies. We encourage you to review these policies for more information.

5. Data Retention

We do not store personal data on our servers. Any user inputs provided are sent directly to the OpenAPI endpoint for processing and are not retained after the request is completed. Other diagnostic or usage data may be retained temporarily for debugging purposes.

6. User Rights (GDPR)

As per GDPR, you have the following rights concerning your personal data:

• Access: You can request access to the personal data we process.
• Correction: You can request corrections to any inaccurate data.
• Deletion: You may request that we delete any personal data we hold about you (though we do not store user data).
• Withdrawal of Consent: You can withdraw consent at any time by ceasing the use of the app or by disabling location services.

7. Data Security

We take data security seriously. We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your data during transmission (e.g., secure connections with OpenAPI). However, please note that no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices. We will notify users of any changes via updates within the app. Please review this page regularly for the latest information.
